The SIC Department is located on the Futuroscope site to Poitiers, under joint supervision of the University of Poitiers. The research activities of SIC Department come within the department of Sciences et Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication, and especially within images and wireless communications. They form a complete chain from fundamental researches to the development of industrial applications, in the following thematics: -Computer graphics and geometry: modeling, animation and realistic rendering for subdivided and/or discrete geometrical objects ; -Image acquisition, processing and analysis of color and/or textured image sequences: vectorial and perceptual approches with modeling of the human visual system and visual quality assessments of image processing and reproduction devices of color image or video ; -Wireless communication systems: quality and/or reliability optimization of radio link, especially by studying radio wave propagation. The main application areas are: -the geometric modeling for the C.A.D., geographic information systems, complex architectural environments ; -nD texture analysis for surface control and quality control ; -multimedia document indexation linked to cultural patrimony, to e-learning, to environment and to health ; -dynamic behavior analysis for the human movement simulation, fluid mechanic and cognition ; -robustness assessment of wireless system in complex environments (indoor and outdoor).
